New Services and Audit Enhancements Approved at CVC Media Board of Advisors Meeting in September

Circulation Verification Council's media board of advisors met in September 2009 in Chicago to discuss new services and enhancements to CVC audits. Highlights include:

1. The board approved a new summary audit for paid weekly newspapers with circulations of less than 5,000.

2. Paragraph 9 of CVC audits, "Distribution by ZIP Code," will be revised to include ZIP code breakouts by free and paid distribution in addition to added geographic reporting.

3. The board authorized CVC to offer clients custom PowerPoint presentations that more thoroughly detail audit results.

4. Publishers that pay for their own audits will now be allowed to participate in 24-month audit cycles, as opposed to 12-month cycles, the board agreed. Publications meeting certain criteria will have the option of 24-month reporting and audit expiration when their next audit report is produced.

5. The CVC Web site will be expanded to include new search functions for media buyers, the board of advisors decided. Details will follow in the April issue of By The Numbers.
